Black Pepper Beer Rice

19 Aug

Ingredients:

  1. 2 Sausages
  2. 1 Tomato
  3. 1 Cup Rice
  4. 12 oz. Beer (I’d recommend an IPA, but work with what you’ve got)
  5. 2 Tbsp. Butter
  6. Black Pepper
  7. Salt

Supplies:

  1. Knife
  2. Cutting Board
  3. Saucepan
  4. Frying pan

Serves: 1-2

Cook Time: 30 min

Drink Pairing: More beer. (Obviously)

This one is really easy, and really good. First, melt the butter in the saucepan with a bit of black pepper.

Add the rice and stir for  about a minute, until all the rice is covered in melted butter.

Add the beer, along with some more black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cover with a lid (or extra plate).

Cook for 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally . The beer may cook away a bit too fast, add a 1/2 cup of water if this happens.

While the rice is cooking (or when it’s done if you only have one burner), put the sausages in the frying pan and cook with a bit more butter until brown at the edges.

Serve garnished with sliced tomatoes, add salt to taste.
